Sarah's Story

August 18, 1986-October 25, 2002

Seven years before Sarah was born I began praying for a child. On April 3rd, 1986, God told me our daughter was on the way. Through a Christian broadcast, I was watching, I was given this word of knowledge; " A woman has been praying for a child for seven years. You will receive this child within or by the end of this year"

During the next few months, God asked me to surrender everything about this child to Him; when and how she would come to us, even her physical make up. Whatever God's will was for this child, I knew He would give us all we would need to raise her.

Sarah was born August 18, 1986 and we adopted her November 4, 1986. The words, "You will receive this child within or by the end of this year," echoed in my heart. Praise the Lord!

Sarah is blind and severely handicapped. Born with a disorder called Hydranencephaly and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. The Doctors gave little hope of Sarah living past three months. As I write this she is now 12 years old. A very happy, healthy and beautiful young lady. Before Sarah came into our family, I had dreams of her doing something great for the Lord. After we learned of her physical limitations, I questioned just what she could do for the Lord. My Heavenly Father

told me that Sarah's very existence is what He is able to do for those who believe and trust in Him. He then told me to tell her story and He would do the rest. Sarah is being used for the glory of God. He has a plan and her disability fits perfectly into that plan.

Through Sarah's unconditional love God has taught me to love and have compassion for others. That is how Sarah's House was started. It is a ministry of prayer and encouragement.
