Principals of Positioning

For a child with Hydranencephaly, you are constantly working against the tightness of muscles and reflexes. Our kids do a much better job at getting into abnormal positions than sitting or lying straight. There are many things that can be done to help your child maintain a good position. We’ve already talked about stretches, therapy, medical treatments, and bracing or splints. One of the most important things you can do for your child is to ensure that they are sitting properly when in a seating system. Your child’s physio or OT will work with you on this. I am including the following information for your information only.

The following are links to information that was included in the book "Caring For Your Child With Hydranencephaly"
